Job Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Tier 1 Supervisor is to provide day-to-day supervisory support for Tier 1 NOC Technicians. The Supervisor provides NOC technicians with the required support to ensure the correct monitoring of network management systems and that all other related NOC responsibilities are carried out in compliance with NOC standard operating procedures. This will be achieved by working alongside NOC Technicians to monitor systems and network performance, answer incoming calls, and process alerts and tickets. The Tier 1 Supervisor will also provide escalation support for NOC technicians to troubleshoot issues which may require the attention of higher level tiers and management. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, along with the ability to multitask in order to facilitate the resolution of multiple incidents at any given time.
Off-hours availability is required. Some travel may be involved.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in CS/EE or equivalent
- 4+ years experience working in a Unix environment
- 2+ years prior NOC supervisory experience required
- Strong understanding of DNS, NFS, TCP/IP and other internet protocols
This position requires successful completion of level 2 security clearance
Preferable Job Qualifications
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on various issues
- Ability to interact in a stressful and challenging environment
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to adapting to new technologies within a dynamic environment
